The Ski Cats program has taught hundreds of youth the fundamental skills of Nordic skiing, some of whom have gone on to National Championship races and collegiate competition. Others have simply had a good time and learned skills that they can come back to as adults looking to get outside in the winter. Both scenarios are successes. As a Ski Cats coach or as the Volunteer Coordinator you can be instrumental in creating these outcomes for our students.
Ski Cats meet on six Sunday afternoons (January 10, 17 and 31 and February 7, 14 & 21) at local trails (gathering at the NTN Forestville trailhead and the Blueberry Ridge Warming Hut trailhead). Participants are broken into small groups for 1-hour classes led by a Coach with help from assistant coaches and parents. Afterwards there are snacks and cocoa before children are picked up.
